Canadian HR Reporter names Laurie Armstrong, Manager, HR at Prophix Software
Canadian HR Reporter, a national magazine published by Thomson Reuters, announced the 2017 Top 25 Human Resource Professionals in Canada in their November 27 issue. Laurie Armstrong, Manager, Human Resources at Prophix Software, was named among the recipients. Laurie has been a valuable employee at Prophix for four years but was also recognized for her continued contributions to the field of Human Resources (HR).
Laurie started her HR career in Recruiting and quickly progressed to HR Generalist & Management roles concentrating on Human Resources, compensation/benefits and strategy. With over 15 years’ experience in the high-tech sector, Laurie is known as a trusted HR leader, advisor and coach who creates a culture of high performance. She is also a Certified HR Leader (CHRL).
In 2013, Laurie initiated a project to improve the HR infrastructure and programs at Prophix Software. She aimed to enrich the employee experience, while also promoting a culture of continuous improvement. Some highlights from her efforts include completion of an employer branding project to improve the company’s ability to attract top talent, implementing a new-hire satisfaction survey, upgrading employee recognition programs, implementing an absence management system, starting an employee wellness needs assessment initiative to help with the creation of an Employee Wellness Program, as well as starting a new benefits plans. A recent employee survey illustrated that employee satisfaction at Prophix improved to 86%.
In addition, Armstrong started a plan in 2014 to help Prophix win its first Top Employer award in the company’s 20+ year history. In recognition of the organization’s progressive corporate culture and HR programs, Prophix won Canada’s Top SME Employer award with its first application in 2016 and again in 2017.
