PROPHIX for SQL Server™ Architecture

PROPHIX for SQL Server™ functionality is distributed across a number of logical tiers, Client, Application and Database. These logical tiers can be installed on a single server or distributed across many servers.
PROPHIX for SQL Server™ leverages Microsoft SQL Server 2000 and Microsoft Analysis Services 2000 databases. Both SQL Server™ and Analysis Services are capable of creating scalable relational and multi-dimensional databases, which offer interoperability with other applications. This allows PROPHIX for SQL Server™ to share its data with other Performance Management tools that also support these databases.

Smart Client Technology

The PROPHIX Smart Client is the application in which users use to access PROPHIX. It is called a Smart Client for a number of reasons including the ease of deployment to a broad range of users via a URL, the detection of Smart Client version updates, and the ability to leverage and utilize local resources.
