Linda L. BiekLinda L. Biek, CPA, Director of Governmental, International and Professional Relationships
National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA)

Linda Biek serves as NASBA’s Director of Governmental, International and Professional Relationships, focusing on strengthening the visibility of NASBA both domestically and internationally. Previously, Ms. Biek served as Executive Director for the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy and has also used her professional training as an auditor with the international firm of KPMG, The Pittson Company, and several CPA firms throughout the country. She is a member of the AICPA and the Tennessee Society of CPAs.

Ms. Biek obtained her BBA in marketing and her Masters of Accountancy from East Tennessee State University and has been honored by former Tennessee Governor Don Sunquist, as well as her alma mater for her professional accomplishments. She was selected for the Tennessee Government Management Institute, an executive training program, and has used her training to visit with professionals in China and throughout Europe. Ms. Biek has served on the boards of various non-profit agencies in the Nashville area.

Jeff Fasy is a strategic and innovative financial leader with a passion for excellence and ability to think outside the box. This has enabled him to deliver outstanding results in highly competitive markets for companies ranging from start-ups to multi-billion dollar global corporations, in industries as consumer goods, facility management, energy management, professional services, Internet/dot-com, industrial products, chemicals, and pharmaceuticals.

Jeff has a proven record for influencing positive change, optimizing financial and business processes and systems with breakthrough strategies that reduce costs, increase profits, minimize taxes, improve cash flow and working capital, and enhance business planning through reporting that delivers incisive, accurate, and timely information. His in-depth knowledge of accounting in both U.S. GAAP and IFRS environments is complemented by extensive experience with budgeting, forecasting, acquisition integration, global consolidation, shared services, and enterprise system implementation.

Jeff's education includes an MBA and a BS in Accounting from Saint Joseph's University, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He holds a CPA from the State of Ohio and is a member of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He served on the Customer Advisory Board for PROPHIX Software. Jeff's community involvement includes serving as Treasurer of WFHS Men's Lacrosse Booster Club and fund raising for The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Paul Sharman is Founder and President of Focused Management Inc., a consulting and education firm. As one of North America's better known independent cost and performance management specialists, Paul has facilitated change initiatives with many organizations, including: Volkswagen, DuPont, Toyota Motor Credit Corp, Kellogg, L.A. Gear, AT&T, US Army, Canadian Navy, Bell Canada, Ontario Hydro and others around the world.

From 2003 to 2008 Paul led the New Jersey based Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) as its President and CEO. During this time, he was also an active participant in the CEO committee of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) as well as a member of the Extensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) Advisory Board.

Paul has been referenced many times in professional and US national press on such topics as the Sarbanes Oxley Act (SOX) and reform of the accountancy profession. He has written in excess of 60 articles for CMA (the Canadian Management Accounting) Magazine, Strategic Finance Magazine, Journal of Cost Management and other publications. He was editor of CMA Magazine for eight years (1990 - 1998). A number of his articles received awards for Distinguished Contribution to Management Accounting from the International Federation of Accountants. He is a member of the editorial advisory board of the Journal of Cost Management.

Paul is an ACMA (Associate Chartered Management Accountant of Great Britain).
