PROPHIX for SQL Server 4.2

The release of PROPHIX for SQL Server, Version 4.1 in August unveiled new features and technologies to enable organizations to further expand their performance management footprint. Capabilities such as Advanced Data Visualization and Offline Data Entry now put performance management solutions within the reach of casual users who rely on quality information in order to make key decisions. Although 4.1 is a major step forward, the development efforts at PROPHIX Software has continued at a frenzied pace to meet the expectations of our partners and clients.

PROPHIX for SQL Server, Version 4.2, released on September 30, 2008, includes additional enhancements along the lines of performance and functionality to further improve the user and implementation experience. Below is a list of enhancements included:

InfoFlex

• Added ability to spread data based on any dimension member combination
• Added ability to utilize SQL engine to perform specific data copy and spreading tasks
• Added ability to select the YTD Measure as a source

Process Manager

• Added audit logging of edits to existing process definitions
• Added audit logging of process execution results
• Updated toolbar with groupings of related tasks

PDF Support

• Added ability to import PDF files into Document Explorer
• Added ability to include PDF files in Report Binders

Maintenance

• Added new option to delete a cube (and all supporting tables)
• Added template support for formula syntax based on non-English culture settings
• Updated language translations for Polish, French, Turkish, Spanish, German
• Additional bug fixes in Offline Data Entry, Template Reporting/Data Entry

Enhanced PROPHIX Personnel Planning (P3) Integration

For PROPHIX for SQL Server (P4SS) customers an enhanced data integration link between P3 and P4SS models will be released in December 2008. A major objective has been to create a dynamic data link for users between their detailed personnel planning data in P3 and summary level financial data in P4SS. The current design provides the ability for regular P3 update users to be able to post personnel data back to associated P4SS models without the intervention of an administrator or the involvement of text data exports. Users will be able to make their changes, post their data, and then immediately report from P4SS modules such as templates and ad-hoc viewers.
