Thrifty Car Rental - The budget planning for Thrifty Car Rental, a car rental company that is significantly present in the airport and local car rental markets, includes over 85 departments. With the budgeting process mainly involving spreadsheets and their General Ledger, most of the time was spent on entering historical data and preparing spreadsheets rather than planning and analysis. Thrifty Car Rental implemented PROPHIX to eliminate the long hours spent around budget time. Implementation was quick and customer support was impressive. Because PROPHIX has met and exceeded Thrifty Car Rental's expectations, Thrifty extended their use to include PROPHIX's allocation processes and the PROPHIX Excel Add-In.

Toyota Tsusho America, Inc. - Increasing reporting requirements from Toyota Tsusho America's parent company prompted them to seek a data consolidation solution that accommodates multiple organizational hierarchies.

R. E. Phelon - A major challenge for R. E. Phelon was minimizing the time it took to get closing information to end users, so their ideal solution would immediately pull data and clearly present the information in a visual format. They needed to create month-end dashboards that would include sales, production and financial information.

Como Oil and Propane - Given that weather, specifically temperature changes, is the primary driver affecting demand for energy, the constant fluctuations dramatically alter actual revenue results. Como Oil required monthly variance reports comparing actual to budget results to ensure planning was on track and adjustments could be made in a timely manner. PROPHIX's capability to integrate financial statements and external systems allowed for adjustments to be made and results to be reviewed.

Kemira - PROPHIX Performance Management fulfilled Kemira's requirements and also offered a capability that would simplify their processes. PROPHIX's offline data entry functions allowed the ability to send templates via e-mail, track the status, and automatically load template data when completed. "Because we needed to collect budget data in a standard format from over 500 users located throughout the world, the offline functionality was a major tool for us," says Jeff Fasy, former CFO, Kemira. "Because of its offline capabilities, PROPHIX was implemented to collect, analyze, and report Cost Center, Intercompany, Profit & Loss, and Balance Sheet data."

Netsmart Technologies - The cumbersome Excel-based budgeting and reporting tasks prompted Netsmart to seek a better solution. After choosing PROPHIX over FRx and Helmsman, they are now able to budget, report, and analyze data on the fly – all within a single application.

East Jordan Iron Works - Like many other companies, EJIW used Microsoft Excel for budgeting tasks and began to experience more challenges as the company grew. A major challenge for Joe Spyhalski, the Manager of Costs and Budgets at EJIW, was the consolidation of multiple spreadsheets. Joe describes, "We had 5-10 managers managing their own Excel spreadsheet for their area, so it was a mess trying to aggregate all the data. It was a clerical nightmare and it was really difficult to make any changes."

Coleman Cable, Inc. - From a budgeting and planning perspective, the use of Excel was very time consuming and cumbersome. One of the main challenges for Coleman Cable was making changes to plans and budgets, which hampered the ability to respond quickly to changing business situations. "Making structure changes and last minute updates that affect the consolidated totals was very challenging," says Denise Feece, the Director of Planning and Analysis. "The Excel templates were error-prone and we were likely to experience other typical spreadsheet issues."

Canadian Bearings Ltd. - Canadian Bearings Ltd.'s in-house CRM system for revenue planning had resulted in a time consuming and frustrating process for internal stakeholders. PROPHIX Software's inherent OLAP technology provided the capabilities and intuitive interface that enabled Canadian Bearings to build a faster and more efficient revenue planning process while increasing their ability to look at detailed revenue and cost of sales information.

Wayne State University - Wayne State University's main challenge was the consolidation of data from separate systems for different entities. WSU needed to implement a budgeting solution to establish a common set of processes and to provide the functions that Excel and Banner did not offer. PROPHIX Software allowed the ability to produce consolidated monthly financial reports in a timely fashion with multiple ERP systems and chart of accounts and the ability to process intercompany eliminations, all within rapid implementation time frame.

RTX Telecom A/S - After several years of losses, the technology company RTX Telecom A/S came to realize that the company had too many obscure areas of focus and that the use of frustrating spreadsheets made it difficult to recognize the company's actual successes and high performing areas. The implementation of PROPHIX Software, a true Performance Management system allowed RTX to control its financial management processes efficiently through the use of its integrated workflow feature.This made it possible to plan the entire budget process continually and down to the last detail.

Educational Services of America - ESA needed a robust system that required as little IT maintenance as possible and offered the automation of tedious processes. Also having investigated Forecaster, Budget Maestro, and Tagetik, the team chose PROPHIX for a number of reasons.

Imdex - With the business growing rapidly, both organically and through strategic acquisitions, it became increasingly challenging to consolidate data with multiple time zones, currencies and ERP/finance systems efficiently. Imdex chose PROPHIX to enhance its reporting detail, workflow, version control, forecasting and month end reporting.

MKS - MKS required a flexible performance management solution in order to produce reliable forecast numbers in a short amount of time. Ruling out Cognos and OutlookSoft early in the process, MKS implemented PROPHIX because the product was self supportive and did not require a lot of external or IT involvement-ultimately offering a low cost of ownership. With PROPHIX's capabilities, MKS was able to completely replace their previous solutions and decrease their forecasting process time by 83%.

Electric Power Board - Initially using PROPHIX purely as a budgeting package, Electric Power Board now uses PROPHIX for all their financial reporting, which easily handles their various federal regulatory requirements. With PROPHIX and new processes in place, improvements have been realized across the organization-from operational managers to upper management.

Restaurant Technologies Inc. (RTI) - Multiple stakeholders are involved in running RTI and are directly affected by business outcomes. A sustainable business is one that is run and managed by the employees. PROPHIX has given RTI the capacity to engage all necessary individuals in running the company. The solution allows and facilitates a user-friendly rollout of all corporate information, be it a new or enhanced report, a corporate scorecard or dashboard and/or the current budget or reforecast.

Robbins Research International - Outgrowing their Excel-based planning capabilities, Robbins Research International, an Anthony Robbins company, implemented PROPHIX for their annual planning, reforecasting, and reporting needs and received over a 500% rate of return from their investment.

Mannatech - The manual budgeting and forecasting processes became too time-consuming, which compelled Mannatech to investigate better solutions. Mannatech implemented PROPHIX in 2003 for its OLAP technology and added strengths in personnel planning, reporting, and analysis. PROPHIX utilizes templates for users to enter data stored in a database, which eliminates manual spreadsheet processes.

SEOS - SEOS has realized some great benefits by using PROPHIX in the finance department and including other managers in the budgeting and forecasting process. Because the reporting aspects of PROPHIX are quick and easys to use, SEOS now uses PROPHIX's reporting features to verify accounts from their Visibility ERP system. In the future, SEOS is planning on creating other models to analyze inventory - empowering more employees, and adding more contributors to making SEOS more profitable.

SonoSite, Inc. - Experiencing a 36.6% sales growth rate, SonoSite, Inc., an ultrasound manufacturer based in Bothwell, WA, encountered difficulties in their budgeting process. Their budgeting process involved Excel spreadsheets and pivot tables, which were e-mailed back and forth throughout the company. It was challenging to maintain control and time-consuming to consolidate international budgets with the total company budget. SonoSite chose PROPHIX to bring control back into their process, and they immediately realized benefits. With PROPHIX, SonoSite saves $1850 each time a planning model is created, and the process of converting foreign currencies to US dollars is simple. Overall, SonoSite has realized a yearly savings of $82,200 and is able to spend more time analyzing, instead of manipulating, data.

State National Bank - State National Bank Inc., now known as Compass Bancshares, Inc., has been in the banking and financial industry since 1996. The company experienced growth to 38 branches. However, as the company grew, their monthly workload became too much to handle by their spreadsheet-based budgeting system. They reached the end of the spreadsheet's capabilities. By implementing PROPHIX, State National's budgeting process is now more time efficient, and they are able to generate 30% more reports than they did previously. Building on the success of implementation, State National plans to add PROPHIX's Personnel Planning to help plan personnel-related costs.

American Alarm and Communications, Inc. - American Alarm previously relied on spreadsheets for budgeting and reporting, which involved many cumbersome, manual tasks. Each branch and department manager would provide spreadsheet budgets, including Lisa Davis, Accounting Manager, who would provide the corporate personnel budget after receiving all the headcounts. All data would be consolidated manually and then go though several revisions by management. Considering the numerous spreadsheet files, the consolidation and revision process would take over one month. American Alarm was ready to move away from spreadsheets and implement a solution for the next budget cycle.

Berks Packing Company Inc. - The need for timely reports and accurate data prompted Berks Packing Company to replace Excel spreadsheets with PROPHIX. With a week of initial implementation and training, Berks created four PROPHIX models - from a budgeting-reporting model to a purchasing model. PROPHIX has directly impacted time and cost savings and has helped improve processes in various areas of the company. Berks now has more time to focus on analysis and take a proactive approach.

American HomePatient - American HomePatient required a solution to solve spreadsheet issues such as security, version control and consolidation. Of the many options, PROPHIX offered the best balance of ease of use and value for American HomePatient - consolidations were automatic and the administration of their budgeting process became much easier. They are now able to spend more time on analysis and focus on business decisions.

Collections Etc. - Collections Etc. considered a number of Performance Management solutions but chose PROPHIX because of its ease of use and analytical and reporting capabilities. After a week of implementation and training, PROPHIX provided Collections Etc. a multi-user system that can easily manage the payroll of 1200 personnel, including their 50% variable workforce, and has proven to increase efficiency in resource management.

Warren Del Caribe - Warren Del Caribe consists of different legal entities in multiple countries and currencies, so consolidating data into a single currency was quite complex in Excel. With PROPHIX, it now takes WDC only ten minutes to convert currencies and create consolidated financials for their central office.

Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce - As a nonprofit organization, Jacksonville Regional Chamber of Commerce required more than Excel spreadsheets for an effective financial management solution. Implemented in a Citrix environment, PROPHIX now helps them manage business factors, such as the various program costs and resources, and allows them to create more reports on a timely basis.

Matcor Group of Companies - Traditionally struggling with budgeting and consolidation in Excel, Matcor Group of Companies can now easily consolidate data with PROPHIX from various general ledger systems into different division hierarchies. Taking advantage of PROPHIX's capabilities, Matcor has significantly streamlined their closing processes.

LWCC (Louisiana Workers' Compensation Corporation) - LWCC, Louisiana's largest workers' compensation carrier, went through extensive training and initiatives for creating a brand and were ready to replace their inefficient Excel spreadsheet-based budgeting system. They wanted a product that would provide ownership, preserve data integrity and offer extensive forecasting capabilities. LWCC decided to implement PROPHIX as their budget management software solution. As a result, their budgeting process was reduced by two and a half months, which allowed them to spend more time on other projects. Overall, LWCC realized better ease of use, improved connectivity, and lower stress levels in upper management. Oncore IT - Initially finding it difficult to forecast long-term business based on contractual information, Oncore IT, a supplier of managed IT services to small-to-medium-sized businesses in the UK and other parts of Europe, now uses PROPHIX for multi-year resource planning - ensuring the right resources are in the right places at the right time.

ENVIRON - Budgeting systems for consulting companies need to be flexible because consultants are the cost centers. Environ, a technical consulting company with offices worldwide, was seeking such a system to replace their current spreadsheet budgeting system. They found that PROPHIX offered that flexibility to tailor the software for a professional services-based company and also allowed the consolidation of entries from a large number of users.
